I have the Logitech Z-5500 surround sound system. It comes with Dolby Digital, and DTS 96/24. But if I were to buy a Bluray player with DTS-HD, does my surround sound system have to support DTS-HD also for it to be able to output it?
Oh and the Bluray player would be connected via Optical cable to my surround sound system.

I know that most blu-ray players will upscale a standard definition dvd to fit and view well on a high definition TV but how is this done? I’ve viewed several standard definition dvd’s on my PS3 and while I know they’re not being displayed in true hd and just upscaled they still look very very good.
Lovin' Blu Rays, all day long. I am not actually in front of my screen all that much, butt... when I jones for some art or some comedy or some action or my other subscribed-to Verizon FIOS hi def feed, then Blu Ray is the higher defafriginition format for me.
Thanks!
