Unless you have a digital cable modem setup, you will need to get both. You cannot use the phone line. The next step is of course, the router. You can get a wireless or wired one, it doesn’t matter as the wireless ones also have up to 4 connections for outbound traffic to non wireless computers You also would need a ethernet cable long enough to go from your router to your bluray player.
