All that I can think of is that you are having some incompatibility issue possibly involving these control signals. Go into the setup menu for both devices and see how both are set up. Ideally, the blu-ray sends the control signals to the TV and the TV knows how to react and all is well. However, if one of them is not reacting correctly, you may have to turn it off on both devices.
