If you use it in the wrong way, you can make a phaser. Just like Star Trek.

It works the same as DVDs.

Lol, all it is is a high definition dvd player. they use a blue ray instead of a normal one to read the discs. this allows more to go on one disc, and for better picture and sound. its perfectly safe. no radiation. its not a nuclear bomb. i’m sure the government wouldn’t allow it if it was too dangerous lol.

it’s a blue laser.. which is an intense beam of light. It aint much different than a DVD player that uses a red laser. If you’re concerned about radiation, don’t use cell phones too much.

Blu-ray is just a name they came up with because the color of the laser light being different. It isn’t a “ray gun.”

It’s definetly safe. It’s the same idea as a DVD, only a smaller disc and much higher quaility.

Blu-Ray is safe as any other laser reader, just don’t go messing with the internal stuff

Blu-ray is read with a different frequency of light compared to standard DVDs, and the disk’s data is read more easily with the “groves” on the disk surface being more rounded and curved compared to the “steps” in the other ones.

Blu-ray– its the new disc format.

before it was vcd then came dvd.

now from dvd – to Bluray which contains High Definition video content

advantage? can have lots of video capacity. thats just it.

no radiation… its totally safe( from my perspective as a consumer).

its just a media storage disc where we put files in such as HD MOVIES.

It’s just an upgrade from DVD. The discs are different, and the laser used to read them are blue-violet, instead of red like DVDs. The blue-violet lasers have shorter wavelengths so are more precise, that’s the only difference, and no, it’s definitely not dangerous.

You may want to be careful with Bluray. The tachyons emitted by the blue laser could combine with the natural flux field generated by your TV and cause a black hole…dangerous stuff that Bluray.

Sorry…I had to make a joke. It’s as safe as DVD and the laser light used is contained fully within the player.

Why would there be radiation? It’s a disk that can play in HD, but is more expensive and ten times slower, but has more space. It works just like DVD only as said before, it’s a little different, and made by Sony. It’s the same, but I don’t like it. The load times are horrible and the extra space doesn’t mean anything because it’s used up with the same thing over and over again because the disk is so slow to read, so they put the same thing on the disk more than once so the laser won’t have to travel as far.

On a DVD there are less lines making up the picture then in Blu-Ray. Because there are more lines making up the picture it makes it more defined. There isn’t any radiation or anything unsafe, just a better picture.

You do have to remember that you can’t play a Blu-ray disc in a DVD player.

    Hope this helps!

not exactly blue-ray is a new type of disc with more than 50 GB of memory.Talking accurately the space between the silicon determine the space

blu-ray is the newest technology that is much more clearer and sharper then HDDVD….and it is safe..the only draw back is that you would have buy a ble-ray player which can cost in the ballpark of 100$…

Blu-ray is like beyond high definition its way better than HD
if you have the blu-ray disc player they have their own disc you could watch with it. (buy them at electronic stores!!) you could also watch regular dvds , cds too with it! =]

Blu-Ray is considered to be high-definition. It is like a DVD, but better quality. Yes, Blu-Ray is safe to use.
