saving_cunegonde asked:

I heard that they’ve stopped making hd dvd players. I have multiple dvds that wouldnt ever be made into blu ray disks. would i still be able to play them on a blu-ray player if they stopped making regular dvd players?

Yes, Blu-Ray players will also play your older DVD movies. This could be specific to certain models, though. Be sure to check the player you plan to buy.

You should be able to. I don’t think they will show up as HD though. I’m glad the war is finally over so I will buy a HD player.

Read the specifications before you buy. Most Blu-Ray players will play standard DVDs, but not all of them do. But hey, as long as your standard DVD player still works you can still use it — the picture won’t be as good as Blu-Ray, but it’ll still be darned good.

Almost all Blu-Ray players will player your regular DVD’s I personnaly have not seen a player that can not play a DVD, but have heard there a are couple. A Blu-Ray player will also upconvert a standard DVD to near HD quality, not quit as good as a Blu-Ray dics, but better then your regular DVD player
